In the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement, 2020 has seen a long overdue spotlight on the woeful lack of representation in publishing, with publishers and agents scrambling for solutions to problems in corporate publishing that have been swept under the carpet for far too long. Our panel celebrates pioneering publishing and debates the drivers needed for the urgent task of creating a new kind of publishing industry. How can publishing best serve itself and readers? And how ultimately can it become a space where different writers can thrive and readers can access new writing which properly reflects and represents the world around us?
