Roger Robinson was awarded Britain’s top poetry award, the T.S. Eliot Prize this year after a long and varied career in poetry and spoken word. Infused with remembrance and rage, power and pain, his winning collection A Portable Paradise spans breathtaking poems about the Grenfell Tower fire to exquisitely moving pieces about the premature birth of his son. Roger performs poems from his celebrated collection, supported by rising star and Wolverhampton nurse of Filipino origin Romalyn Ante whose luminous debut Antiemetic for Homesickness was named as a Guardian Poetry Book of the Month and explores themes of caregiving, family and the yearning for home. Roger Robinson will now be appearing in this event digitally.
