The author of six novels including Bel Canto and Commonwealth, three books of non-fiction, recipient of the Orange Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award and named as one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, Ann Patchett is truly one of our greatest living novelists. Her latest novel, The Dutch House – a quietly devastating book about siblings and the destructive pull of a family home – was described by The Sunday Times as being ‘her finest yet’. The Sunday Times Literary Editor Andrew Holgate speaks to her at her home in Nashville, Tennessee where she lives, writes and runs her own bookshop.
