The publication of Kiley Reid’s Such a Fun Age announced the arrival of a new literary star. Centred on a young black babysitter and her well-intentioned but flawed white employer, it’s a funny and sharp examination of power, race and privilege in modern-day America that has since earned a Booker Prize nomination, a place on both The Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller lists and been the centre of a hotly contested auction for film rights. Lucy Knight, Assistant Books Editor of The Sunday Times talks to the author at her home in Philadelphia.
